Why Isn't Black Night Kubo Spawning?
Black Night Kubo is located in the Black Night Duel Ring in the Sentinel Forest. The exact location for the Black Night Duel Ring will be located within a circular area, walled off by bamboo. To head to the correct location, open your map and head south between the spacing of “Sentinel” and “Forest” when zoomed in on the map.
Once you arrive at the Black Night Duel Ring, you’ll be able to find a corpse to the side with a pair of clapping wooden blocks. However, upon clapping the wooden blocks, nothing happens. To spawn Black Night Kubo, you must wear black dye armor and clap the blocks. The easiest black armor to get is the Nine Tail Armor, which comes with the Eyes in Smoke dye as default. The Nine Tail Armor can be obtained during “The Kitsune” main tale in Teshio Ridge, so simply follow this quest until you have the armor. Alternatively, you can head west of the Teshio River to find the Black Dye Merchant so that you can dye your other armors black. Once you’ve equipped black armor, clap the blocks, and a cutscene will play with Black Night Kubo revealing himself to begin a duel. After Atsu’s victory, you will be rewarded with the Black Night Kubo’s Mask.
