Man Utd winger Antony takes legal action against Ajax over fines issued as Brazilian attempted to force Old Trafford transfer

Before Antony swapped Ajax for United in August 2022 for £85 million ($105m), the winger was fined several times by the Dutch giants for reportedly skipping a few training sessions and an Eredivisie match as he sought to push through the transfer. Now, reports the 24-year-old has filed an arbitration case, with both parties facing off in court earlier in January.

The report adds Ajax withheld hundreds of thousands of euros from Antony's salary while they pushed for a bigger transfer fee but now the Brazil international wants it back because he allegedly believes the fines were imposed unlawfully. According to , this dispute has been going on for two years as Antony – who was not happy with how Ajax treated him at the time – still hasn't paid those fines. Fast forward to the present, and the Brazilian is regarded as one of United's worst-ever signings.
