The dismissal will see Gordon suspended for the next three matches, including the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on March 16. However, Howe believes the England winger had no malicious intent and says the Magpies will look to have the card overturned if they believe there are grounds to do so.
WHAT HOWE SAID
"Of course. If we analyse the incident and feel there's grounds for that [an appeal], we will do without hesitation," Howe said after the game. "I'd need to see it, I can't sit here and give an honest opinion to that until I've done the work that you've done and looked at it. But knowing the player, I know there's no malice intended there."
