Celtic looked to be cruising to victory with first-half goals from Daizen Maeda and a Matt O'Riley Panenka penalty but James Tavernier's 55th-minute spotkick gave Rangers hope. Abdallah Sima's deflected effort four minutes from time levelled proceedings but Norwich City loanee Adam Idah restored the visitors' lead a minute later. Then, in the 93rd-minute, Matondo curled in a stunning effort to ensure the points were shared in a 3-3 draw at Ibrox on Sunday.

The result means Celtic hold a slender one-point lead but Rangers have a game in hand. After 33 matches, the league splits into two sections of six teams – with the top six and bottom six playing one another once. Celtic will host Rangers in that final block of games so there are likely to be more twists and turns along the way.

WHAT NEXT?

Before the league splits after the 33rd game, Celtic entertain St Mirren next Saturday, whereas Rangers are away to Dundee on Wednesday and then travel to Ross County next Sunday.
